Hi guys,

I recently moved from NYC to Ann Arbor and gained a few lbs - primarily because I used to walk everywhere I think. I didn't exercise much in the city, but somehow maintained a weight I felt happy at. I am 5'6 and weighted about 117-120 and recently hit 125-127 lbs and decided to start exercising again (as in 2ish or so weeks ago!).

I eat a very healthy diet - lean proteins, veggies, fruit, eggs, and my one vice is WINE. I dont really eat bread/rice/pasta, but if I do its always whole grains. I think my diet was really a reason I was staying at such a low weight in NYC, without much exercise.

I exercise about 6x a week (200 min of cardio goal, 2 personal strength training sessions/week, and a barre intensity class), and want to take a day off today. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for what to eat aside from my typical meals (eggwhite omlettes w/veggies, white meat chicken over lettuce, and salmon usually with brussel sprouts, asparagus, etc.).

Does anyone ever feel guilty when they take a day off? I honestly eat a very healthy diet for the most part and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for what they do when they take a day off from the gym?

Thanks!

I don't feel guilty taking rest days. It's necessary. The only thing I do sometimes is feel antsy/irritated when I'm not lifting, but it's because I really, really love lifting.

There's no reason to alter your diet on rest days unless it's part of a specific protocol you're following.

I don't feel guilty taking rest days from exercise as long as I still stay within my MFP calorie goal.
