So today I went to the gym, and got on the treadmill to do a run, and I thought to myself, "hmm, I wonder if I can do a mile in 12 mins," so I decided to try it. During the run, I remembered back to high school when they were having is do a 12 min mile, and I couldn't do it because of asthma, being lazy and 230 pounds. Back then it took me over a half an hour to walk the mile.

Today, I did the mile in 12 mins!!! I was so excited and proud of myself. I felt unstoppable.

Today was a good day :-)

I can't wait to accomplish something like that! I have never been able to run a mile in under 15-16mins I think it was!

    Thanks guys!

It was hard as hell to do that 12 min mile. The only reason I was able to accomplish it is because I kept telling myself that I can do it. It was all mental. Physically, I am in better shape than I was in high school (I'm 156.5 pounds right now).

@candlesbytheb, I didn't think I was able to do it either, but, going to the gym, exercising, weight training, all of it helped my body get stronger. You have to build up to it. I been incorporating running and jogging into my workouts for only a few weeks. Today I was ready. My next goal is to do back to back 12 min miles. I'm nowhere near ready for that yet.
