Should I feel guilty?

So I have been alone in Mexico City since Nov 28th on a work assignment. I have been religiously going to the gym every day twice a day (cardio in the morning and weights with the trainer in the afternoon) and trying to eat healthy. Today I went by the gym and I told the trainer my head hurt (lie) and that I had had a crappy day at work (true). I feel guilty about skipping out on the gym today but I am just really not in the mood.
Should I be feeling as guilty as I do???

When we just don't feel like going through the work, that's the time for guilt but not when our bodies are telling us to rest.0

What does feeling guilty do for you? The guiltier you feel doesn't mean you worked out. If you took a break today to feel better, then feel better.0

Every day twice a day is a lot. You probably needed the break, so enjoy!!0

Not when you're exercising everyday. Your body is probably telling you...hey! Give me a day off!
You may want to reconsider a workout-everyday schedule. If you really want to exercise everyday, maybe on the day-off, you can go for a walk, or stretch, or do yoga or something less stressful on the body.
Done with the unsolicited advice. About what you really asked about... in general...guilt isn't such a healthy emotion. Making yourself feel bad doesn't tend to help us do what needs to be done. (It tends to make us crawl into bed with a box of cookies...but maybe that's just me!). So, dust yourself off, recommit to your goals, and start over the next day.0 -
How many calories does feeling guity burn?0

...and the point of feeling guilty is??
i hate these i-need-justification posts...theyre killing me.0 -
Just be honest.. they know. Everyone needs a break. That is why we have vacation days! I wonder if they could tell you were lying.0

April...I wasn't looking for justification. I was simply posting to see if there are others who sometimes feel the same.
I have been working my *kitten* off since I got here and have had nothing but time in my hands and really dont need anyone telling me its ok to not do my weight session today.
If you hate these posts...dont read them.:flowerforyou:0 -
Did I just read an earlier post saying you worked out this morning??? You did awesome today then! You still worked out today and you listened to your body when you needed to rest in the afternoon. That's awesome!0

I wouldn't feel bad about it. Just don't make it a habit! Rest up and get ready for the next day!0

Don't feel guilty about taking a day off. You are probably feeling worse because you told a lie. You should feel able to excuse yourself without feeling you are compromising your integrity. If it was okay to skip the workout, it was okay to be honest about why. You're a grownup and don't need permission to make decisions about your time and your body.0

Yes I did work out this morning. I woke up at 545 and did 45 mins of cardio. I have been doing cardio in the a.m. and weights in the p.m.0 -

Strange that you didn't need anyone answering your own question. If you already knew the answer or the answer you wanted, you could have given us a crib sheet.
I say this because you probably do the same thing with people in your life that *do* matter. Or at least matter more than April or me. I promise you this sort of thing is irritating to them too (but probably needs larger doses).
If you should go to the gym, go. If you need abreak give it a rest. But if you sk a question to strangers on the internet, understand that you will get answers. Whether you like it or not.0 -
I think telling the lie is the only thing to feel guilty about. Next time just be honest with your trainer. Like someone else said, this is your body and your journey, only you have a right to make decisions about it. So don't feel guilty for skipping the work out, next time maybe just be up front about it. heheh0

You really shouldn't feel guilty about skipping out on your second gym sesh of the day. You obviously needed the break. If you're working out twice a day, that's probably putting a lot of strain on you. It's great that you're taking such good care of your body, but you also need some quiet time. Don't listen to these people saying that you shouldn't be asking this question--everyone needs support. That's what we're here for.0
