Macros: Too much protein and fiber?

Ok, I am relatively new to MFP and have a possibly silly question. I've noticed on days that I really try to eat pretty healthy (which is still hit and miss as I figure out what kind of calories I can expect from things), I often go over on my protein and fiber targets. How worried do I need to be about this? Too much fiber? really? and too much protein? even though I'm working out? What do you all think? Thanks!

Both are way to low here. For that matter from what I remember the default amount for fibre doesn't even meet the recommended minimum daily amount. Lots of both will help lose weight as they help keep you feeling full.

This comes up often as a quick search would show.

Not to worry at all. I think that's GREAT!

from my own experience is that I try to at least meet the daily amount of protein and fiber. If your working out regurlarly and with a decent amount of intensity (strength training especially) you should up that number of protein. They do have basic calculations that you can do to figure out by body type what you should be looking for. Obviously, if you want to be more "buff" this number will be somewhat higher than someone who doesnt. Just dont overdue the protein because if the body doesnt use it, the body stores it up as fat. I would say the best rule of thumb is to meet the daily req'd and see how your body reacts in weightloss and in muscle tone, etc. Hope this helps

    MFP honestly underestimates.

I went to see a physical therapist and they told me that 15 grams was definitely not enough. She told me women should be getting closer to 23 grams daily. Eating things like apples, really anything with skin, as well as wheat will help you get to that goal.

As for protein, more times than not, they state you should have one gram of protein for every lb you weigh. Most people cant even get half of their body weight.

That in mind, rest assured that you should be fine.
