43 days ago, to be precise, I had this amazing epiphany that made me realize I wanted to and HAD to lose weight. I've been overweight all my life and things like college and real life stress have only added to that original problem.
The first few weeks were fabulous! Weight dropped off. Eighteen pounds of it, actually. I was ecstatic. Then came this phase. The phase where it's not losing three pounds in a day. The slow and steady and horrible part. The part where I have always gotten depressed, thrown in the white flag and given up.
But I don't want to do that. I am still so embarrassed and ashamed by my weight that I can't stop now. If I stop now, the last 43 days will be for nothing. So that's why I am here. To join a community that will encourage and inspire me for the next 110 pounds and for once, DO THIS.
So YAY! Hi, everyone!

Welcome to MyFitnessPal! I hope you find it as helpful as I have. Never hesitate to ask a question (the forums are full of helpful people).
My word of advice - log everything that passes your lips. It's the only way to get a truly accurate picture of how much you're eating and how many calories you are consuming. Dieters (and people in general) are notorious for underestimating their calorie consumption, so try not to guess and get out those measuring cups and food scale (if you have one). It helps me a lot anway.
