Heart Rate Monitor, Technical Question

My husband and I both have Polar heart-rate monitors. I lost my strap and have been using his and the little black transmitter that goes on it. Can anyone confirm that as long as I wear my own watch, the output will be accurate (or do you have to have the original "black box" too)?

The sensor has no intelligence to it. All of the data is processed on the watch.
The output will be accurate.0 -
