I am looking to read some books that have to do with motivation and losing weight. Also with becoming healthier and having a better lifestyle. If you have ready any good ones that you liked or heard good things about any, please let me know! Also, I'm new to mfp so anyone around my age or weight loss goal is welcome to add me!

these books are easy reads and are legit in their research
master your metabolism by jillian michaels http://www.amazon.com/Master-Your-Metabolism-Naturally-Balancing/dp/0307450732
the amen solution http://www.amazon.com/Amen-Solution-Brain-Healthy-Weight/dp/03074636050 -
I've never seen a book about weight loss that wasn't full of crackpot theories. Probably because Eat Less,MoveMore is kinda short for a title, much less a book.0

hormones and brain chemistry can play a huge part in how we relate to and process food.0

I would say, get a good book that is full of interesting stuff. Like the new twilight series. Dr. Phil says, to replace a habit with a habit, and you could replace lazy time while you eat on the couch with a hot cool book and no food, cause your brain is way too much into the book!!!!0

Loved the Metabolism book my JM and also the New Rules of Lifting for women. I have read a bunch and really I think you need to remember that not everything you read is gospel truth. You have to take what works and is healthy and then incorporate it into your life. I did find Jillian Michaels book has lots of information on plastics and etc. Very interesting.0

"This is why your fat" by Jackie Werner
The title is harsh, but it was a really good book, one that actually motivated me to change my diet.0 -
Instead of reading silly books about fad diets and books by people making millions off of selling hair brained ideas, why not read text books on nutrition, physiology, anatomy. Knowing how the body works is way better than any silly book.0

I am starting one soon (tomorrow would be nice, but who knows), that my nutritionist gave me many months ago.
It's called, "Eat what you love, love what you eat".0 -

I agree, If you do buy a book, look for an author who is a nutritionist or a biochemist not a doctor.0 -

There is so much free information on the internet. Google is your friend. You'd be amazed at the stuff you can find out there. And you'll get a more balanced view of everything if you read a bunch of articles vs reading one or two books that are trying to convince you about a "diet".0
