Consistency..for success.

First of all, I want to say that I am so happy to be on this website. Since I started a month or so ago, I have lost 6lbs. It's been more successful for me than any other site, including myfooddiary.com, which was not free, came with a monthly fee.
One of the keys to my success is that this site really shows how many calories you are eating and taking in. It's a big eye opener. I have to end up passing foods I love right on by. Because if I ate, say, 2 bean burritos or a cookie, that's like a 3rd of my daily calories. And then I have to work out twice as hard a the gym the next day.
I have been very consistent the past month, and I realize this has been the key to my progress thus far. HOwever, the past ten years I have had trouble losing weight because of my lack of conistency. I will go on a diet for a week or two, exercise, and then the next week something stressful happens and I stop working out and eat more food. And then it's a downward spiral effect.
I can be an emotional eater. For example, the past three days I was really depressed, and my first inclination was to go for something comforting like bad carbs, and say, "forget the gym, I'm depressed." However, I forced myself to not overeat or skip the gym. But I'm scared in the future I won't have this self-control.
I would love to be able to get others thoughts on how you work on being consistent so that you don't gain weight, then lose it, then gain. If you could share some of your ideas on what works for you, I would appreciate it.
Let's form a bond! To help us grow as healthy people and a fitness community!!! Thank you.

yes very true consistency is the key.
i started with a bang and then too busy solving the mess others have created in my life. but now back to gym. I give me self time to cope up and take time off. I restart after break wore energy and passion.
and now let us pledge that will be consistent in going gym for one month and gradually to one yr probably.0
