How do I log the steps on my pedometer

I use the Nintendo DS Walking program, you put a transmitter in your pocket for the day and it calculates your steps. You log it in to the DS when you are done for the day, and it tells you when your most active periods were thru the day, and when your most sedentary times are, you can set step goals for the day, and a little light on the transmitter changes color when you have met your goal, it is a pretty sophistocated llitte toy. But the program doesnt tell you how many calories you burned, which would make logging it here much easier. I would like to see something in the Cardio exercise section for calculating how many calories burned for the amount of steps taken. I know that they suggest 10,000 steps per day, but I am in the 5000 range.
