Hi everyone

My first post, but I've been on this site for months and have learned tons and kept motivated by it!

This summer I came to the conclusion I really had to address my increasing waist band before I started getting seriously obese. I wasn't pleased to realise I was 160 pounds (i'm 5' 7") and showing it.

I've been upping the exercise a little (eg adding in a couple of walks a week through the gorgeous central London parks on my way to work) and exerting a bit more self control over my food choices (I love food) and portion size (I really love food). I have been aiming at a pound a month weight loss and a better feeling when Iook in the mirror and so far so good - 7 pounds gone and baggy clothes!

Would love to keep in touch with other people battling the bulge and/or taking a 'gently gently' approach - here's to being fit, svelt and fabulous at fifty (or indeed any age!)

Hi there! You're the same age as me, but the good news (for you!) is that you have less weight to lose than me! (and you're a few inches taller!).

I am also in the UK, although quite a long way from you (Scottish borders) but it would be good to compare notes. Will send you a friend request
