I am curious to know how others feel about texting. When you text someone do you do it out of boredom, to find out how a friend is, or do you only text the other sex that your interested in?? If your a lady do you text men friends and vice versa.. When you text how long should it take someone to reply?? if its a guy/ woman that your interested in how long do you give them to reply??

I work with teenagers. I text out of obligation. :)

    Here is how is goes:

Teen: Yo! R we havn uth grp 2nite
    Me: SPEAK ENGLISH!
Teen: Mr. Robb, are we having youth group tonight?
Me: Yes, just like the other 52 Wednesday this year.

    Just being silly.

I mostly text my students and friends to encourage them or to just let them know I am thinking about them.

I usually don't text out of boredom, and I don't ever text guys. I will usually text my best friend back home or my friends from school or my mom about random stuff i think of.

My husband was away for 2 years - military so we texted constantly from the moment we to up until we went to bed. That is how we kept our communication until he came home. We still text but like when he was gone.

I text because most of the time I'd rather send someone a text than call them. lol. I used to love talking on the phone - now? I'd much rather have you text me.

My boyfriend and I were long distance for our first year together - texting was essential. We used to text from the minute we got up til the minute we went to bed. He lives with me now and we still text one another. Not as much as we used to - but we still do.

I text my kids, a couple friends and my boyfriend. No other men.

I text everyone. My boss, my mother, my husband, my son's teacher, my male friends, my female friends, my co workers, my aunt....etc. you get the idea. If someone doesn't reply to me right away I do not flip out. sometimes people are at work, dinner, school, have their phone off, or are otherwise occupied. I'm smart enough to know that an unanswered text is never about ME =)

I text girls I'm interested in.

And one guy I hang out/work with.

Occasionally my brother in Toronto (like monthly) and 1 guy I used to work with in Toronto (he now goes to school there).

The only other time(s) I text are when I'm headin to another city, I'll message people from there to see if they're up to get down.

I don't really do the boredom text. I can't deal with 'whats up' ...'nothing..u?'...The 2-3 word exchanges.

If I'm SUPER bored, I'll start sendin random pics.

I agree. Lame. I only text if I have something I need to tell them or am asking a question........although if I ever had any down time I just might text people for no reason...hmmmm

yes I text.I think most ppl do when it's not convenient to talk on the phone- I don't have rules about replies tho. I'm not much for rules- I HATE rules.
My texts are strictly PG, nobody sends sexts to Grandmas .. unless she's a Kardashian

    SIggy and I text nonstop.
I text him to say good morning and let him know I got off to work safe(I know I know) lol
Then even after we say goodnight on AIM we'll usually send a few more texts.

We had to change our texting plan when this started lol

I text. Hardly ever talk on the phone unless something is serious and justifies a phone call....or if a text would be too long I'll Sly dial and leave a voivemail
  • I text when I have something to say that will lead to a conversation or have a question to ask them (like: what day do you wanna visit?, when's the study group?). I don't like to text people out of the blue when I'm bored because then I end up not having much to say. Then I feel bad for using them haha.

I text mainly my boyfriend, parents, classmates and best friends.
Guys are off limits to text unless they are classmates or long time friends. I never really text guys anymore. I found out guys (or at least the ones I know) rather just talk face to face unless they wanna flirt.
    Texting girls is ok though.
  • I have 700 "talk" minutes and unlimited texting. Last month, I talked on the phone for 136 minutes . . . and sent 4076 texts.
The only people I really call are my aunt and grandmother because they don't have cell phones and therefore can't text or my dad when he's at the grocery store and I need him to pick something up because he can't read his text messages without his glasses. My boyfriend's out of town right now so I talk to him at night but we text all day long too.

So I text anyone and everyone!

People still talk on the phone? Ugh. That would mean having to hold the phone up you ear and not being able to check facebook. :)

This is interesting to see some people don't txt much. I also find that sometimes texts are hard to tell how people are saying something.
