I do not own one of these so I really don't even know what to call them. I have heard of Wii and I believe there are others out there on the market. So, for those who do own them...what do you suggest? I think that one uses a control and that there is also one that doesn't. I am thinking of buying one and just want to get the best for my money.

  • Of the three current systems I like the XBox 360 with Kinect the best. They pretty much all have the same games, but the Kinect doesn't require you to hold a controller.

There are three different ones? Please list their names. I know of Wii (is that right?) and now there is XBox? Please bear with me. I really am not up to date with electronics.

I agree that XBox 360 with Kinect is the best game system for Fitness. The best fitness game they offer for the system is "Your Shape: Fitness Evolved" and is made by a company called UbiSoft. There are two versions of the game including one that was just released with "2012" in the title. Be aware, however, that this is not an inexpensive purchase. A new game is $60 and the system is close to $300. If you don't already own the system, I don't know that I'd buy it just for the fitness game.

I personally have dealt with the Xbox Kinect and the Wii.

The Xbox kinect is fairly new compared to the Wii, and is a considerable addition to the Xbox cost (when buying all equipment at once like you would). Good thing, you don't need to buy various controllers like the Wii. Thats where the Wii makes a good amount of money. Each game requires one/two different controllers, often per person! If you are alone, thats not so bad. If you will be enjoying your wii with the family you will have to purchase 4-8 different controllers for particular games so everybody can play together. One more thought, the Kinect does require a considerable amount of space directly in front of the tv to even set the Kinect up so it can track you. With the Wii it doesn't really make a difference because you just move the controller around. I could personally do yoga/zumba in a smaller area than the Kinect will want you to utilize to calibrate the kinect features, so if you are dealing with a smaller living space/tv area then the Wii is probably your best bet.

Both sets have similar games, both for the exercising ones look fun (I don't personally have the space in front of my xbox/wii set up to do exercising or use the Kinect). Hope my input helped, sorry it doesn't fill you in on everything!

The third system is the PlayStation 3 with "Move." That's what we have, mostly because my husband's friends use the PS3 so he wanted a console that would allow him to play with them. Personally, I think the XBox Kinect is the most advanced, since you don't need a controller, and has the most active games.
