Please tell me this is normal

Hi, sorry if the question sounds silly but I'm fairly new at working out. I joined a gym about a month ago, before that I was just speed walking. I was jogging with walks in between on the treadmil since I started going to the gym and doing just fine and two weeks ago I used this adductor machine for a few minutes and till this day I'm having knee pain. I'm limping when I walk because it hurts, I can't get on my knees and its torture when I try jogging on the treadmil.
At first I thought I was just sore from the workout but its been two weeks and I never went back on that machine since. Today I wokeup with my knees a little swollen ( I workout in the gym Thurs-Sun). Is this normal? I also thought what if jogging is hurting my knees because of my weight, but before I felt just fine doing it. I'm 210 and 5'5 tall. Has anyone ever had a problem like this?

before you go thru the myriad experiences of everyone else I suggest you speak with a doctor or a GOOD physical therapist.
now for my story: I had a knee pain issue for YEARS before it was correctly diagnosed (a doc, an orthopedic surgeon and the first PT I went to all missed the diagnosis). I believe they looked at me; a middle aged over weight menopausal woman and not at the whole picture of my knee. They all thought I had arthritis, well...it was an inflamed IT band. The pain was horrible. After 3 months of the correct PT exercise the pain completely vanished. The thing is.....just rest won't cure it. Once your body starts compensating for an injury it doesn't just default back to the correct mechanic, you have to retrain it!
good luck!0
