Just wondering if anyone else has done this or it happens often to them.

Somehow, maybe the way I sleep, I keep injuring the muscles in my upper back. More specifically the trapezius and rhomboideus muscles. What happens is when I turn or bend my head/neck, it triggers a sharp pain in these muscles. More so in the rhomboideus muscle.

I have been to the doctor about this and he just said it's a very common injury. But has no info as to how it is caused and doesn't have many suggestions about what I do about it. Aside from tylenol.

I have had this so many times before. It will last many days. And it sucks big time!

Just wondering if anyone has info about this or knows about it. Or maybe has also experienced this.
I am looking for suggestions of what to do about it. I know about the dumbbell row. But there must be something else. Hot compress? Cold compress? Exercises? etc.

:) Thanks everyone!

Honestly. Find a good physical therapist.

It's likely something to do with poor scapular mobility, but we're shooting in the dark over this medium of exchange.
