I am wondering if my BMR is correct so I am wondering if anyone has used their HRM to find their BMR?

That is an awesome idea! I've thought about it, wearing my HRM for 24 hours just to see... I wasn't sure if that would work though, so hopefully someone else will know before I burn my battery for a full 24 hour. Good question, I'll keep checking back.0

They are not designed for that. HRMs, if they are accurate at all, are only accurate when you are doing steady-state aerobic exercise. The built-in algorithms used by HRMs to estimate calories are only valid under the conditions mentioned above.
Make sure you have terms correct as well: BMR is Basal Metabolic Rate. That's the minimum energy used to keep your body alive. Most popular BMR calculators (like the one used by MFP) are reasonably accurate. Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) consists primarily of casual activity and exercise activity. That's where more variance occurs, but again, unless you are doing steady-state aerobics (and have your HRM set up correctly), HRMs are not useful for that either.0
