Anybody have one and like it? Hate it? Wish you'd never bought it, or can't live without it?

I'm considering one as a Christmas present for my husband who drinks endless bottles of Deer Park soda water. However, he's picky, so I'm wondering if he'll balk at this thing because it's not "just like" what he's used to.

Thoughts?

I love it. You can control the level of fizziness (I always go for maximum fizziness) so maybe he can get it be "just like" the Deer Park version.

The biggest complaint I hear is that it's not economical since the refill carbonators are expensive and have to be replaced often. I've only had my Sodastream about a month so I haven't had to replace the carbonator yet. But even if it costs a little more I think it's worth it to not be buying bottles all the time.

A friend of mine also complained that the soda water goes flat too quickly. Personally I haven't experienced this problem, but that might be because I go through a bottle every 10 hours or so.
