Daily weigh ins and recording losses

What do you all think:
I am one of those people who weighs myself everyday, ok sometimes more than once. However, I use the information to tweak what I'm eating or doing and know that it can fluctuate based on sodium and water retention. I don't use it as an excuse to go off my diet. SO my question is, if my weight goes down in between my scheduled Monday weigh ins, would you record that? My Monday weigh ins are usually after breakfast and lunch and can also occur on bloated days, if you know what I mean!

I too weigh in pretty much every day - curious how what I ate the previous day affects my weight and such. I always record whatever my weight is here on MFP. Sometimes it goes up, sometimes down, but no matter what it is I record it. But for the group I weigh in with I only use my Monday weight. I always weigh myself first thing in the morning after I use the restroom and before I eat anything. I guess it's just a personal preferance as to whether you record all your weigh ins or not0

I'm a daily weigher. And sometimes more than once a day. I'm not ashamed to admit that I'll strip down after going to the bathroom to weigh myself. Well maybe a little bit ashamed to see it in writing.
Having said that, I only record my weight on Thursday mornings. I take the weight after peeing, sans clothing, before showering. I like to keep it consitent so I'll be able to see the trend in weight loss at some point.
I do use the daily weighs in as a booster of moral or a get back on track method. Like if I've a bit of an off day, it might show on the scale the next day (esp if I indulge in ice cream later in the evening) or if I"ve stuck to my calories all day it will show the next day - hopefully.0 -
i weigh every morning after i go to the bathroom. i only log it here on sundays though0

I weigh every day, but only record my weight on Monday morning.0

I only weigh myself every other day..(M, W, F) and yes..I record it every other day here. I usually see a .4 loss every few days.0

I weigh daily, but only record it Tuesday mornings.
I don't see the point of recording it everyday knowing that weight fluctuates so much, but hey, if it works for you, go for it.0 -
For the best accuracy, it is best to weigh at the same time of day in the same type of clothing (or none at all).... otherwise you are just weighing the food in your belly and the clothes on your back. Your graph accounts for the time between weights so you will still get an accurate picture over time so you you can see the trend regardless if you weigh once this week and five times next week.
That being said, any morning I weigh, I record it. For me, that is a minimum of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. It helps me pinpoint the less subtle things that may be going on like not getting enough fiber or just a little too much sodium. I eat a lot of string cheese and mini baybel light cheese to get me through hungry times, but that sodium can creep up without being as obvious as a can of soup or an order of fries. Gaining a couple of tenths of a pound when my calorie load is low enough that I should be losing usually sends me looking at my nutrient breakdown for the past few days.0 -
I too weigh everyday for the most part. Sometimes if the scale is up, I'll stay off for a day or two and then come back. I only record losses and I only record those losses if they occur on my weigh in day (Monday). I've had weeks, I'll be down 2 lb in the middle of the week, but by weigh in on Monday the scale is actually a little up. Now I know it's not real weight, but I still just say, ok hopefully next week.0

I weigh everyday, same time, after using the bathroom, before shower, but record on Wednesday's. You will see lots of fluctuation on your chart if you record everyday, but it is just personal preference.0

I weigh in every day, but only log my "official" Monday weight here. I use another app on my iPhone for daily tracking.0

I record every day on my calendar, but only update my weight on this site once a week, usually on Monday or Sunday.0

So, I am the odd person here...I do not have a scale in my house, so I check my weight every 2 weeks or so...It is encouraging to see the weight coming off, but by not weighing every day I am not obsessing about the ups and downs that daily weighing shows. It is working for me as I have lost 17 lbs. since starting 50 days ago:)0

I weigh myself everyday (i have a lot to loose) ,I try hard not to as do get a bit demoralised when it does not go down, but it gives me a real boost when it has gone down and stays down. I also measure myself twice a week. It does keep me focused, i find it tough to stay on track, but tracking my food, checking my weight and measuring regularly keeps me in line. I have only been doing this seriously for 8 weeks and i think it will take more time to make my new healthy living style the norm.
Once i do not have to think about my choices to hard and i automatically pick the healthy stuff over the higher calories items, then i will relax a little more about weighing and measuring myself. I am an all or nothing kinda person, so at the minute i have to go all out and over do the measuring etc else i would lose motivation.
Maybe it is not ideal but we are all different and for me it is working.0 -
I weigh every day and recored almost EVERY loss :-) For me, the times in my life that I have gained weight are the times that I don't weigh myself daily.
That being said, I don't freak out if the scale moves up a bit or around that TOM. If those normal variations bother you (they make a lot of people uncomfortable) weekly weigh ins are best.0
