In the last month I have only lost 3lbs! I exercise 4-5 times a week and I eat most of my exercise calories...what am I doing wrong? I do several different workouts (hiking, aerobics classes, walking, stairmaster, elliptical, and weight training). I do go over on calories by a little (no more than 100 maybe once a week or once every other week)...but I dont think its enough to slow my weight loss so much! So, what can I do to jump-start my weight loss again?

Well in my opinion, if you lost any weight at all, you're doing something right! :flowerforyou:0

keep on keeping on! you really are doing super great! :flowerforyou:0

GO READ "HOW IT'S DONE, TIPS FROM ME TO YOU" RIGHT NOW!!!! Banks and Kerri have great info on there. Just think, if you "only" lose 3 pounds a month - in a year you will have lost 36 pounds, which is AWESOME! Patience!!! :flowerforyou:
And I'm sorry, I am really lame at attaching links to other threads...0 -
Thats not a bad thing at all. That is 0.75lbs a week. That is really all I every lose. At first I was losing 2-3 lbs a week, but then your body re-adjusts. People typically only do lose one lbs a week. The Biggest Loser show has us all thinking we are failing if we don't lose a minimum of 5lbs a week. ---Not real!! Unless of course you are living with Jillian!!:happy:0

maybe your hitting a plateau. your body is getting adjusted to your workouts. try stepping up your exercise regiment. or try changing your calories. are you eating your bmr? if not, i would switch it up to that.
hope some of that helped.0 -
Since starting MFP I have lost either 3 or 4 pounds per month. Most months that I lost 3 it was because I may have fudged a bit on my food or exercise. Either way...pounds lost are pounds lost. Celebrate the 3 pounds, maybe switch your workout routine a bit and I'm sure you'll continue to lose more weight. You're doing great!0

Are you slimmng down? maybe youre building muscle (which weighs more than fat)0

I suggest increasing your excercise intensity and play with your excercise calories....the reason is "we" log our own excercise based on what we think we did....it is quite possible you are logging it a bit higher than your actually burning ...and in return MFP is allotting you too many burned calories....everyones intensity level is not the same and for some high impact may actually be low impact...vica versa....good luck0 -
your doing a great job. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Loosing it slowly is better than not loosing at all.

You know, 3 pounds in a month sounds fine.
But if it was me I'd probably knock 100 or 200 calories off, or increase my exercise to see what happens.0 -
How many calories is your base? maybe adjust it down if it's 1400 or 1500 or up if your only getting 1200 - when I was at 1200 I did the same thing and it was discouraging but at 1450 I am losing again.
If you've been doing same exercises for a month or so - change them up.
But best of all remember....you LOST 3 pounds!
Great job slow is not a bad thing0 -
Your body will adjust, according to my trainer, about every month it will adjust to what you're doing and try to hold onto the fat more. Although I think 3 pounds is fine, I know it's frustrating to slow down on the weight loss. The less you have to lose, the harder it will be. Looks like you're trying to lose roughly 30 pounds... which will be a huge struggle because your body thinks it need that! But as long as you keep losing you are doing GREAT!!0

Wish I was in your boat  I have only lost 1lb in 6 weeks:explode: 0 granted I only have another 9 lbs to lose but still its annoying, done the upping my calories, changed my excercise routine added more, did less excercise etc AND still no weight loss:grumble: :explode: :grumble:  .
I just keep on trucking/tracking.

Thanks for all the advise! I think I will try and increase the intensity of my workouts and work harder on not going over on my calories (my fiance is always enticing me with some yummy treats that I should not eat!)!
Off to the gym!0
