Exercise Question?

If I am exercising only 3 days a week (30-40 minutes of cardio, weight training) on those days, and on the other days I am doing simple exercises in my room (crunches, jumping jacks, etc) is that enough? I'm a very busy college student and getting to the gym is hard, plus its freezing so it's impossible to run outside. If I do that and stay within my recommended calories will that be enough to help me lose weight, or am I going to be out of luck?

Thanks!

Yes you will still lose weight. The point is that you are changing your lifestyle, not a quick fix. If you exercise 10 hours a day, you'll lose weight faster - but as soon as you stop, you'll gain all that weight back! So what you're doing is perfectly acceptable and you WILL lose weight. When your body hits a plateau and gets used to that exercise, just do different things but in the same amount of time (like a tae bo or something).

    Good luck!

Yes you will lose weight. Your weight loss is based on the calorie restriction not the amount of exercise.

Try the 30 day shred dvd it only takes 20 minutes and you can do it anywere. All you need are hand weights.

yes! I am losing weight and at the moment I am not exercising and if i do its very very slow and gentle ( not many cals burned lol) its calories burned vs. calories consumed.

If you are physically able though ex. makes it easier because you can eat more but you also get all the health benifits and will probably have more energy and feel better. You also get more firm..like I may be getting smaller but i will be a smaller flabby lol. Ex helps you physically and also tends to lift moods so I think if you can do it you should....

Maybe do some interval training - your body will get used to the same things.. maybe do some running inbetween your walking.. im not a big runner, so i do 2 mins running 1 min walk.. and chop and change it depending on how i feel that day?

    Hope that helps?

I used to do all my exercise at home. I used elastic bands and then weights (up to 10) pounds for strength training and toning, and if it was too cold to walk or jog I went up and down my stairs for half an hour, twice a day. I lost over 100 pounds doing this. All at home!

The best exercise plan is the one you will stick to consistently. Sounds like you have a good plan that you can stick to.:drinker:
