I have been a vegetarian for over 7 years. I've dappled in Vegan. I generally eat organic and attempt to keep a clean diet and stay away from processed foods, so the switch isn't a complete shock. Still, I do love my pizza, eggs, milk, cheese, and shoving carbs in my face during stressful times.

I begin tomorrow and will go through January 21st, when I begin my last semester of college. I will be documenting every day from the foods I eat, pictures of what I cooked, and how I feel in general. If you're interested, you can follow me and my progress on Tumblr.

I am NOT going to weigh myself again until the end of the Raw diet. I will continue exercising and logging on MFP as per usual, and attempting to stay within 1200-1500 calories. I'm not giving up on coffee and alcohol, and promise to document whenever I have a day I don't eat 100% Raw.

If you are going to post pictures of what you cooked, then you are not doing a raw diet.

I can tell you from experience it is very, very difficult and I had absolutely no energy and felt sick everyday for the whole 6 weeks of lent.

I did a raw diet back in 2009 for Lent and felt sick and extremely tired the whole time. I would have been better off doing a water fast.

I am becoming aware and am working towards training myself to add lots more raw fruits and veggies. I believe there is a place for cooked, blended, juiced, and raw foods in my diet. The plant's nutrients are released differently when eaten each of these ways and have amazing properties when used a variety of ways. Winter (cold months) are much more difficult for me to eat raw foods!

    Brave attempt by you!

Sorry, let me rephrase my sentence. Posting pictures of what I've made from the book. I apologize for not having changed my vocabulary use of the word Cooked yet.
  • Good job on deciding to go raw. I am only starting on my raw journey again, but I am not 100% raw, and I think it will take some time for me to get there.

The last time I went raw I felt really good and had alot of energy. The first few days were hard for me because it was such a big change, but I really liked how I felt on a high - 100% raw diet.

I would think that if someone is lacking energy on a raw food diet, it would be because they are not consuming enough calories, not eating enough of the nutrient dense foods (greens + green juices/ smoothies etc), or need to clean out. But then again, we all have different experiences.

I hope your raw diet is going well, I'll have a peek on your blog:)
