When i started on MFP I first chose the lowest calories and acitivity level possible for myself because I had been very lazy and inactive for awhile, and I wanted to lose as much weight as I could while still using MFP's 2 pounds a week limit within their system. Later after a few months I went up one level in activity.

I now am a lot more active than I was, biking almost everywhere I go, volunteering at a place where I lift and move a lot of things, and also hiking and walking a lot. I log all the calories to most of those activities, especially any big ones or activities that I did specifically for fitness. I also eat back all my exercise calories.

I stalled on weight loss the last 4+ weeks, maybe losing 3 pounds and then gaining them back, and then losing them again, but I have definitely lost inches off my waist and hips. It also been hard to get back on eating fewer calories on days I do not exercise. It has been getting pretty cold here, in the low 30s. AND it was Thanksgiving. We all know how hard that can be.
