So I've somehow hurt my foot. Currently walking with a limp, can't bend or flex without ouchiness (that's a technical term, btw). Any ideas on cardio I can do seated? Or just standing?

Well, I have plantar (undiagnosed) in my right foot so I avoid high impact workouts like running, so I do the elliptical and the stationary bike. Both machines get my heart rate past 170 if I really push it. I combine both machine workouts in a n hour's time and get a 700+ cal burn (I have a hrm). So far, my foot's been doing better than post-running.

seated elliptical...my gym has the Octane Fitness brand and I love it! currently recovering from a hip injury
  • A rowing machine might do the trick.

You can do exercise bike, I have seen people do elliptical with casts, braces, etc on foot, leg...I guess it depends on your coordination
  • Do punches, or you can purchase one of those "cycles" that you can do sitting down or place on a table to work your arms.
  • Swim, if you have access to a Wellness Center. Many times a dr can refer you and your membership is reduced.
