Pain in ankle while running

I've recently noticed that I've been getting a pain down the inside of my (left) ankle when I run. The first time I noticed it was when I started using "barefoot" running shoes (which I'm barely using at all now until I sort this out) about a month ago. I also started running a lot more around the same time, so it could be to do with that.
The pain isn't super severe, but I'm just worried about doing something more serious to my ankle.
So...does anyone have ideas on what might be causing it? Should I stop running if I feel it or should I push through? (Like I said earlier it's not super severe, and it doesn't really persist once I stop exercising...)

You should go see a doctor. Just to rule out anything serious.0

I'd suggest you see a sports medicine doctor or a physical therapist. Probably best to rule out a stress fracture.0

Thanks for the suggestions.
I should also say that I never feel it while walking/anything but running and I also don't feel it for the whole time I run (I feel it for maybe 10 mins out of a 30 minute run)0 -
I'm a physical therapist and I would recommend that you go see if you can get an injury screen from a physical therapist to look at your foot mechanics while you run. You could be twisting your foot or rolling in while you run, which is causing your pain.0

My boyfriend has the same problem! He blames it on minor injuries he got from doing tricks on his bike when he was younger.
I've noticed the pain too at times, but it went away once I began treadmill running. It's always in my right ankle. I honestly think the problem is the angle change and pressure put on my ankle when the sidewalk dips to become a driveway. Do you run on sidewalks? if so, maybe try running in the bike lane (:0
