hi all
i've actively been on a healthy calorie counting diet and exercising daily for 2 weeks, i've had good sucess, lost a few pounds and was actually eating healthier food. i had hoped that this new regime would help with pre menstural syndrome but it's just as bad as it was, maybe it's too soon to expect changes.
my symptoms though are going tp affect my weight loss, two days ago i was on the way home from gym and had a strong bread craving, i suspected it was the beginning of pms so gave into it and bought a wholemeal roll, althought bread is not off my list i had cut down on it drastically, anyway before the night was out i had eaten a pizza and had a beer. this is just the beginning, i have two weeks to go.i also didn't go to the gym yeasterday although i was physically active all day.
my symptoms are
dizzinesss
indescision
anxiety
hyperness
v hungry
detached from reality
a kind of flloating feeling
although this may not sound too bad, it's hell feeling that out of control
what foods can you advise to help with these symtoms, also without starchy carbs, what else will cure that crave?
i am thinking of taking udo's oil as a supplement
thank you

imo it sounds like anxiety or hypoglycemia. if it is hypoglycemia you may need to eat/drink more often.0

Have you seen a doc for those symptoms? It sounds more serious then something people on a message board can help with... I'd make an appointment ASAP.
Pre Menstrual Syndrome has many different kinds... and your's sounds more severe and something that can't be fixed by diet and exercise.0 -

I agree with wholeheartedly. Certain foods cannot "fix" the symptoms you have described. You should check with your doctor if this is the way you feel a lot.....especially if it's 2-3 weeks per month. It may be more than just PMS. :flowerforyou:0 -
I have your exact same symptoms (well not hyper) plus a ton more. 2 weeks out of the month my life sucks and I am completely out of control. I have not foud anything to help, I just try the best I can to at least not go over my maintenance calories. That doesn't always work though and for at least a week of the two I go way over...on nothing but junk. I always gain 4-5lbs during this 2 week time and then I have 2 weeks to lose that plus hopefully another pound or two so I at least end up losing 1-2 pounds a month. It is so frustrating. Mine is caused by my brain tumor/thyroid problems/PCOS.
Sorry I have no ideas to help you, just wanted you to know you aren't alone.0 -
It sounds like it could be more than run of the mill PMS, like PMDD maybe. I'd make an appt with my gynecologist to discuss. There are medications that can help with this. Unfortunately there's no magic food that will help with PMS or the cravings.0

thank for the replys guys, i'm not into taking medication so will carry on searching for a natural
i realise pms is having a vast detramental effect on my health, well being and relationships, i have been to the doctors about it several times, (i'm in the uk), i don't seem to be able to express to the doctor how bad it is, it turns me into a recluse, panic stricken and not not wanting to see anyone.
just so no one is worrying about me i do have a lovely friend who i go and stay wiyh whilst i'm like this,i am there now, we don't really discuss it, they just know i 'get ill' sometimes0
