I just got a polar heart monitor and there is a huge difference from what myfitness pal says I should have burned and what my exercise heart monitor tells me. about 400 calories difference. I went through my settings again, everything is correct. my fitness pal says I should have burned about 580 calories when I put my exercise in but my heart monitor says I burned 985. Which one do i believe any input would be great! thank you

That is a tough one. I have a bodybugg and have gotten a lot lower readings when doing similar exercises than people with HRMs. I would say gauge it on your weight loss. If you're losing weight using MFP then continue to use that, or maybe go somewhere inbetween. I would just prefer to under rather than overestimate calories burnt, especially when there is such a big difference.0

The heavier you are the more calories you will burn, use the HRM calories always.... Good Luck0
