Use this rule of thumb. One cup of lettuce loosely put into a cup = 1/2 cup. Put the amount you would like to eat .......after you have figured out how manys cups and put it onto a plate to get a visual of what it looks like. Try to use the same plate each time.

This has totatlly worked for me, without constantly measuring it out each time. And lettuce has so few calories so your good know matter if you get 1 or 5 cups.

    Hope this helps.

I smash gently. But, this whole cups business is so stupid. A cup of spinach? Really? A 1/2 of raspberries? Raspberries don't exactly form fit into a cup. It's stupid. They should use weight only.

Lettuce is a lot of water. Who cares. Take 10 and you're good.

This is so true. Lettuce is virtually devoid of any nutrition and so low in calories that you would make yourself sick before you gained any weight from it. I don't ever eat lettuce. I use baby spinach leaves instead.

I wouldn't worry about measuring lettuce. It's water.

Iceberg lettuce is devoid of nutrients, but other kinds of lettuce are very healthy. They still have very few calories. I do guesstimate and log to track the fiber and vitamins, but otherwise, I don't worry about it.

I don't measure/track any veggies (except starchy ones like peas & corn).

I measure lettuce by the content of its character. Otherwise, I don't feel the need.

I just throw a bunch in a bowl and say it's two cups... it's like 10 calories per serving so I don't really care if I miss the mark...

True. I forgot that there were other kinds. When I think of lettuce, I think of iceberg lettuce. Once I found baby spinach, I never looked for anything else!

I weigh mine as per the weight given in ounces or, preferably, grams on the nutrition label of the package.

I use that, too. It's the easiest.

I measure it by the fistful. I count each one as a cup. Two fill my small salad bowls so that's my standard measure.

It's so low calorie that its not going to ruin anyone's day if they end up with "too much" lettuce.

This is what I do as well.
