Today I was at the library with my project group for one of my classes. I saw a girl who I talked to in one of my classes last spring who I hadn't seen since then. She told me that she loved my hair and that I looked really familiar, and I told her that we had been in the class together. She looked really suprised as she realized who I was, and told me that I looked so different. Not just my new hair style, but she said that I looked like I had gotten thinner!!! I was sooo happy!! My amazing day had just become so much more awesome.
I know that I can definitely tell that my face has changed, but that's the only thing I can see past. It's been 8 months to the day that I joined mfp, and I've lost 24.2 pounds. I've lost the pain I get in my feet when I get out of bed every morning. I've lost the random popping in my hip when I walk. I can actually use the belt I bought last year, and am on the second hole after almost being able to get to the first. I only drink non-diet soda when my classes are killing me and I need it to survive the last hours. I only drink diet soda every couple of days, sometimes only once a week, even several weeks. I drink water or unsweetened tea at restaurants. I can wrap my pointer finger and thumb around my wrist and they meet. I'm still addicted to chocolate, but I only eat 2 or 3 pieces a day, not half a bag. I have my 23 days of no soda, chocolate, or candy to thank for this. I can walk up two to three flights of stairs to get to class and not feel completely winded, thanks to my anti elevator crusade (unless heavy objects or many many flights are involved
).
I know there are some things that I'm missing, but for the moment, this is all I need to say. I've been slacking with my logging lately due to end of the semester stress, but I know it will pass. I'm so proud of my accomplishments in 8 months, even though some days I get so frustrated with the slow going. I know that once I'm able to incorporate truly working out into my busy and stressful schedule that I will have so much more to accomplish. For now, I'll take these and just be happy.

I never heard that one before... so it should be the pointer finger huh? OK mine is getting very close... but not quite yet!
Congratulations, you are doing great!0 -
I second the pointer finger-thumb thing... So close
Congrats and keep up the great work!0 -
How exciting for you! I know it's hard to see changes when you continually see yourself in the mirror everyday. I've lost 20lbs so far and I thought I looked exactly the same as I did before until my mom showed me a picture from my birthday earlier this year.0
