Strength Training: Sore Muscles Question

Hi Peeps,
I hope you can help me.
My muscles are still sore from my strength training session a few days ago, not 'really' sore but when I stretch or pick something up it hurts a bit. Should I wait until my muscles completely stop hurting before I do another session or is a little bit of soreness OK?
I'm doing low weights and high reps at the moment by way of getting myself and my muscles used to the exercises, and to build up a little endurance before I move on to heavy weights and lower reps in the new year.
I hope you can help me.

From what I understand you should be OK to do another session 24 hours after your last one. Keeping it consistent and regular is important.0

alot of the time i find more "exersice" helps get rid of it!0

If you're doing low weights and high reps, doing it again today should be ok. It's more like cardio than proper strength training at that level. It's really once you start lifting heavy that you need to have significant rest between lifting sessions, or alternate muscle groups.0

And yes, that's true for me too. Mind you, I also don't really get stiff much anymore - you'll find the more you exercise, the less often you get muscle stiffness.0 -
As long as the pain isn't preventing you from doing daily activities, it should be fine, if you have recently started lifting or had a particularly great session, this muscle soreness is normal, like the other poster said, as long as there is a day of rest between your exercising, you should be fine. Good luck on reaching your goals.0

You're fine0

As long as you had at least a day's rest (for those muscle groups) after your last training you will be fine to train again.....except if you are really in pain - which it does not sound as if you are....0

Working them out again actually makes the pain GO AWAY afterwards for me.... like rips the muscles back open or something. haha. I don't know why, but it works. WORK OUT and the muscles will feel better faster (even if it hurts at the time).0

If your sore, then you need to let the muscle recover more. The gym is only a stimulate and you really build muscle when out of the gym and when your sleeping. Next time go to the gym and workout a different muscle group. Everyone recovers differently.
To help speed up recover 30 min after you finish working out, have a high protein and high carb drink. Your body will use that to replace muscle glycogen and start the repair process. Even if your a low carb person, this is the one time during the day that high carb is good for you. It all goes to the muscles.0 -

If it's been a few days, then you should be ok.
Only thing you don't want to do is work the same muscle groups back to back...that is cause for injury.0
