I'm excellent at posting every calorie as best as I possibly can, like even a bite of something off my kids plate gets logged. So I just looked at my "monthly" report and saw that in 10 days of the last 30, my net calories were UNDER 0. This is due to exercise. I have my "base" set at 1500 and attempt to eat back exercise calories. I track calorie burn with a HRM, so it shoudl be fairly accurate. I generally do 2 workouts per day, sometimes as many as 3, but the third one is only Yoga or Tai Chi or something easy, not really calorie burn.

I know I'm not in that "starvation mode" that people talk about, as I'm still maintaining and maybe slightly losing weight. I'm where I should be weight wise and am at a great body fat %.My performance and endurance hasn't been effected, and I'm not feeling overtrained. I have a running related injury, but it's not really injury as much as it is form and biomechanical related that I'm working with at PT on overcoming.

I've just finished reading the book racing weight and believe I have some great information I didn't have before. But my question is, do I really need to worry about being in negative net calorie zone in 10 of 30 days if I don't feel like it's harming me in other ways? I try to stop it, but frankly, I'm not hungry, don't eat junk calories and simply don't eat high calorie foods.

If it helps, I try to eat low gluten (my kids are gluten free) and I avoid dairy. I rarely ever eat red meat any more and try to get more calories from plant based sources. Any suggetions would be great.
