Training for Boston

Hi,
I'm new(ish) to MFP and joined to lose about 15 lbs while training to qualify for Boston. I've run 4 marathons, done a half ironman and various other triathlons, but never fully pushed myself to shed a few lbs of fat, build muscle, and really focus on strength and speed like I have decided are my goals for the next few years.

Has anyone out there trained to qualify for Boston or some anything similar? I'd love some advice. Right now I'm following the "Run Less, Run Faster" training plans from the book but am wondering if I should also look into a personal trainer. I live in Brooklyn and recently joined Equinox so that I could take a few toning classes each week to add strength. Also, need to work on my core.

Would love some advice as well as to meet some nice people. Not looking for anything else but support and friendship.
LMK and thanks!

  • Add me as a friend if you like I have done 3 halfs and just completed my second full in Vegas last sunday in 4:30:32 (nowhere near BQ).
