To go to a nutritionist or not?

I have taken a major fall off the wagon. I think part of the problem is I am just not sure what and how I should be eating. I try and stick to 1200 calories but I don't think I am making the right food choices. I thought a nutritionist would help but started looking at the cost and wow the fees are crazy. Should I just keep plugging along or spend the money? Has anyone been to a nutritionist and feel it was worth the money?

Thanks

Start eating one-ingredient foods and work from there.

Raw foods should be the basis of all diets.

in before someone says 'eat chocolate bars all day as long as it fits into your macros'..............

Do you or your husband (if you're covered under him) have health insurance? Depending on the policy it may cover such visits. My Blue Cross/Blue Shield covers 6 visits a year.

I find my time WELL worthwhile to mine. If you only have 10 lbs to lose, perhaps reduce the amount you're trying to lose each week. 1200 seems very low to me. Try for half lb or less a week. It WILL come off eventually :)

Mine has taught me what serving sizes are like, what is a good balance for eating, and tips and tricks for staying on track (like one blown meal/day doesn't kill a day/week) and the importance of exercise.

    MFP does all this, no?

    We don't fail because we don't have a nutritionist...lol

We all know to eat fruits and veggies, lean meats. Losing weight is simple.
Yes, it's hard, but at the end of the day, still very simple.

    Don't waste your money.

Set up your macro's to what suits you. If in doubt, start with 40/40/20 and tweak from there.
Have you tried preplanning your menu's? Once you set your calories goals and your macro's, if you fill out your menu for the week it makes it easier to be your own nutritionist.
