Hi, I'm *new* to MyFitnessPal, somewhat. I started using this app on my iPod a year ago, but never kept up with it. I logged on here after seeing it on something from Pinterest and remembering that I had an account. I saw my last updated weight and I haven't lost ANYthing in a year. I start workout programs and then I quit - either because of being sick, having a crazy all out party weekend that takes days to recover from, or just being in a rut and getting bored with it. I need to find my motivation. I am hoping that by logging all my food and exercise, and keeping up with it, I'll be able to watch myself more closely and finally accomplish my goals. I would like to find friends on here just so I know that I am not doing this blindly. If people are watching my progress, am I more likely to push myself to keep it up? If anyone wants to be friends on here, please add me! I love the support this site has to offer. Crossing my fingers this will help me finally push through!!

Best wishes to you. An encouraging thought someone once said just came to mind. Failing is not failure, not trying again is failure.

    Kristine,

Awareness is a major key to success so you'll need to log in every day as well as everything you eat & drink. It's one thing to "know" junk food is bad for you but once you start posting everything you eat you'll quickly become in tune to what you're eating and how it effect your body. I started on 10/20/11 and have not missed a day of posting everything. Not only has this helped me lose 22 lbs but it has also helped me to stop being an all day "grazer" of junk food by educating me in regards to what i was actually putting in my mouth/body. I thought it would be a lot harder but once my mind (not stomach as it's all in your head!) accepted that I COULD survive with munchies other than carrots and other low cal/good for snacks, I sometimes found myself totaling forgetting about snacking for 4 or more hours! Go figure, all this time I thought I was hungry..... LOL!

Good luck and don't forget that exercise and PLENTY of water also helps! :-)

    Mark
