Does anyone every get a bad case of the hungries? I ate a breakfast with protein (two eggs) and fiber (100% whole wheat bread) and am starving. I've also eaten one-half grapefruit and a banana. I've also had four glasses of water so far. How do you stave off the hungries??? I'm at work, so exercise is not the answer. Why am I so hungry today? Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Usually with me, if I know I have eaten good for the day and I think I am hungry, it's usually boredom. So, I try to find things to occupy my time. Read a book, go for a walk, journal, etc...I am still trying to figure out knitting and crocheting, but can't seem to get the hang of it!

    Good luck!

I'm at work so I can't do anything to take my mind off of being hungry. Also, my stomach is actually growling.

I find I am more hungry when I haven't exercised. Go figure on that. I can eat more because I exercised but I don't want to!

I go through phases...last week I was starving everyday around 3pm, but this week the hungries haven't really started until I was just about to get off work.

I think it probably depends on the type of food you eat and how much protein you're getting and such, though it sounds like your breakfast should have been pretty filling.

I know you said your stomach is actually growling, but I still think being bored or just not wanting to be doing what you're doing (working) can make the hungries more unbearable. Because when I am at work I cannot stand to be hungry, but at home I can often get wrapped up in something else and forget to eat. My stomach will be growling, I am starving, but I can still put off eating at home if I am interested in doing something else more.

Try chewing gum, or get up and go for a short walk....just something to break up your day so you're not as bored and focusing on your hunger.

I am like that too sometimes, I just chalk it up to my body wanting some more nurishment, so I comply, not excessively, but if I am hungry then I eat. Sometimes I will go 200-300 calories over for the day but the next day I am back to normal.

I'm so hungry right now I have a headache. :sigh: Lunch is in 40 minutes and I think I can hold off but in times that I can't I have a little bag of nuts in my drawer at work. I eat exactly THREE and no more!

When I chew gum or drink too much diet pop I get the case of the mean hungries. I quit doing those things and keep some baby carrots at work... I can eat those, drink a bunch of water and it makes my stomach almost hurt and they are very few calories. Good Luck... I hope you figure something out... and if you do share it with us.:drinker:
