I am going to be having my family over for a luncheon on Christmas Eve. I don't want to do breakfast items since we are not getting together until 1pm, and I don't want to do anything too heavy since two people have other family gatherings in the evening. But I still want it to feel like a special holiday. Any suggestions?

We're having small snacks. That might work for you.

Fruit salad, Greek salad, My mom makes little turkey or cheese sandwiches with King's Hawaiian rolls, Lasagna cupcakes, I've also seen bacon, egg and cheese cupcakes, trail mix, grilled veggies on a stick, crackers, cheese, and turkey pepperoni, english muffin pizzas. cucumber, cream cheese, and dill on little rye bread.

=] I love hosting parties with little snacks!
  • I'm a big fan of things on sticks these days,,,,,makes for smaller portions too which is good when eating light and you can make everything well in advance for easy c ooking time the day off.
    meat tenderized (flattened) then squewered
melon balls on sticks along with other cuts of fruit and you can make strawberries for the ends to look like little santa hats
