Need ideas of what to wear to a Christmas party! Help!!
It's casual to semi-dressy casual. Almost like classy club maybe...some ppl in jeans and a nice top...not sure about the girls.
Anyway, I still need to lose tons of weight...so I'm still wanting to hide under my clothes, but I still want to dress classy and SEXY.
I'm 5' weighing in around 150-155. I'm a pear. I don't wanna show the top part of my arms...I'd like to accentuate my waist, and I've gotta big booty, but I like it. hehe
Anyway, any ideas?
I'm not sure if I should where like leggins and a long top with heels or a dress though i HATE my legs..or maybe wear a skirt/dress with some neat patterned tights or just wear jeans and a nice shirt or what? I have little to no style though. I know it when I see it, but I can't throw it together.
Send me pics advice whatever? hehe

Ugly Christmas sweater. It is seasonal, timely, and the perfect conversation-starter to hide behind.

I like the idea of jeans with a nice shirt and boots. Maybe add a sports jacket. Either way I think you will look great.0

Love the idea of a cute top and jeans and a sports jacket..... that way if everyone decides to go to a club or bar afterwards you can take it off and youre in club wear! Make sure to wear super cute shoes!
Have tons of fun at your party!0 -
How about a pencil skirt? I'm a pear too and I wore one to a party last year and got lots of compliments.0

I wish I knew what the other girls were wearing. I don't wanna be dressed down too much or dressed up too much. Ugh! I hate that. haha0

I believe I'd skip the jeans. Wear slacks or leggings. Or even a nice calf or ankle length dress.
I don't want to sound prejudiced here - but don't know how else to say it. Shop where the black girls shop. The clothes are MUCH cuter & more fashionable than - say, Kohl's plus size dept. You'll find something colorful & flattering .. maybe even sexy
Most of all, remember - FUN IS ONE SIZE FITS ALL - Have a good time
Merry Christmas!0 -

I like the idea of skirt with patterned tights and some sexy heels/boots. Stay with dark/black on the bottom and then think about your favorite holiday colors for on top....reds, purples, silver, green, etc., for jackets/sweater/blouse. Whatever you love will make you happy and feel in the spirit. Also some jewlery....keep it all simple if it feels overwhelming. Try not to think too much about what others will show up in - this is the time to define who YOU are!!
Have a terrific time and keep up the good work!!0 -
Have you tried going to the website of your favorite store? Often times they will have lookbooks put together to help you visualize what pieces will look good together.
I also think confidence and a smile can be the best accessory.
I like this type of outfit because it will accentuate your waist and it's still festive. The tights will help you stay warm and because they're dark they have a great slimming effect. Boots are always a great choice.

I'm wearing a green turtle neck sweatshirt with some jeans and boots on Christmas, then to see extended family I'm wearing a red knee-length dress with dark black stockings.
You can't go wrong with a Christmas sweater and jeans! Can dress up your outfit with red nail-polish and accessories.0 -
GOOGLE this:
PARTY WEAR PEAR SHAPED BODY
You'll see a bunch of pics that might help you. Basically, you need to emphasize your TOP half, and not the bottom......so I wouldn't wear any patterned tights or funky leggings0 -
You'll never regret being over-dressed.

We just had our Christmas party on Friday and I wore a pencil skirt I LOVE pencil skirts ... kickin it old school! I think that's a great idea especially if you want to accentuate your waist. Hope you find something you love and have fun!0 -
Of course I don't know your size or what your price range is but here are a few ideas that you could mimic/find at other places. I think the last three fit your criteria pretty well. All would give you enough room for the booty and hide your arms while still being sexy enough for the party. (in my opinion)

I like Captain Mal's suggestions.
I'm much closer to my goal weight now, but since I'm a shorty working with an hourglass figure, I thought I'd share.
I wore this to my office party (it's my ol' standby 'cause I didn't have time to shop):
It's an INC dress with a Banana Republic cropped sweater. The dress is fitted, black up to a white or light colored bust helps create a fuller bust to even out with your bottom. So maybe if you find other styles like this, even as a shirt, you might be inclined to try it on? Wore it with these heels: http://www.heels.com/womens-shoes/chance-black-pu.html?utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=affiliate&utm_source=aff_id&atrack=cj
When I was heavier a couple of Christmases ago, I wore a couple of balloon/bubble hem sweater dresses. They don't cling to the middle, cling to my hot thighs instead . Here's an example, http://www.jimmyjazz.com/womens/clothing/dereon-bubble-hem-dress/A102608EJ?color=Black though it's not a sweater dress. At least sweater dresses will likely have sleeves. This one seems out of season. Wear one of those with dark tights and sexy heels.0 -
If I were you, I'd get this top and belt (red belt) at the smallest part of my waist. Pair with skinny jeans and some killer black boots with spiky heel. Maybe a couple of braclets and some cool earrings, but no necklace.

All the stores have GREAT holiday dresses now (just bought one on my lunch break!!) I'm a pear-shaped as well. Most of them are sleeveless, but just buy yourself a cute Bolera (they cover your arms and across your back, but nothing else so it doesn't cover the dress). Simple solution to still look great!0

Pencil skirt, with a silky blouse (or halter to show your shoulders) or soft, fitted sweater belted at the waist, and knee high boots. What Not To Wear would call the look "Sexy Secretary." :happy:0 -
something like this would be nice: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=58646&vid=1&pid=898933&scid=898933002
the taupe color
the stretchy part clings to the small of your waist and then poofs out, covering your stomach. paired with cute dress pants or a skirt and boots, it would make a great outfit.
also this in the black dot pattern: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=58646&vid=1&pid=898934&scid=898934032 and then cover it with a cute shrug/cardigan like this:

i also love this look: this black tanktop http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=59112&vid=1&pid=122702 with this cover-up:
http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=plus&Category=faith_sweater&ProductID=2008585852&VariantID= The ruffles cover problem areas and the sweater covers your arms.
can you tell i love old navy??If I were you, I'd get this top and belt (red belt) at the smallest part of my waist. Pair with skinny jeans and some killer black boots with spiky heel. Maybe a couple of braclets and some cool earrings, but no necklace.

love that top. with some great accessories that would be amazing.
i think you can wear jeans/jeggings, as long as they're tighter looking and not so much traditional denim jeans. i would love these jeans with the black shirt above:
