I went out and bought a Shiva Rea yoga DVD recently. I love the idea of the yoga matrix - being able to pick and choose what bits you want to do - and the fact you get a lot of yoga on her DVDs of varying levels so you can progress. Although as an advanced beginner, some of the stuff I look at and think - you have got to be joking!

I was wondering what Yoga DVDs would be suitable for an advanced beginner who is doing yoga to stretch her hips, back and mind. I am not looking for fat burning or power yoga - stretching is what I am looking for. Should I go more Shiva Rea or are there other teachers and videos which are as good or better?

I have almost all the yoga DVDs that Bodywisdom does. Amazon carries them. They have varying levels on the DVDs (even though they say they are for beginners). Then again, I never made it past the beginner stage. They have a variety of workouts. Some are short, some are longer.

Gaiam makes a great yoga for beginners DVD. It's an hour long though. I think that one is very relaxing, but it might be too much of a beginner disc for you.

I don't think bodywisdom do DVDs in PAL for region 4 (aka a*** end of the earth).

I can find Gaiam, and Shiva Rea though.
