How do you get going?

Hello all,
So I am coming off a bit of a bender. Haven't logged for at least a month and although not too much damage was done I am finding it hard to break the bads habits initially. I ate really well and logged my whole day yesterday, and then crashed just after supper to the extent that I polished off a box of cookies (that should not have been around in the first place) and abused the healthy treats I keep around for moments of weakness (and apparently utter failure too).
The junk is now gone from the house, but I'm sure the lack of motivation that usually plagues me at the beginning is still kicking around. How do you get yourself excited and determined and on track when you are picking up your journey a little heavier then when you left off? I don't have many "oops" days to spare as I have a dress to fit into at new years (yay!) and a wedding dress to buy in january (not final fitting or anything.. but still). I usually just force my way through with will power.. but it often takes a week or more for me to really get going and I don't have that luxury this time around with two deadlines looming. Any methods or tips or suggestions (mental/physical/organizational/etc) would be really really appreciated!
Good luck to those in a similar position and thanks for any feedback in advance!

I just went through that similar feeling. What I finds help is truly using this site. Look around and find nice, friendly people you can add as friends. (You can add me if you like) and they will comment on all of ur statuses and workout updates with motivating tips and congratulations. I find that really helps. Also, I like to post a quote I like up on my walls so that you look at it often, or you can post it on your fridge. A quote that reminds you of what you really want, something that will make you forget the cookies no matter how good they look. Its not easy, thats for sure, and I had a bad week last week too, but with hard work it can be done0

I just tell myself if I don't get on that elliptical, ill be back to square one. I stopped eating grease foods as of August or September and haven't had a single craving since. Once you see the changes and watch yourself need smaller clothes the motivation will always be there (for me any ways).0

I keep reminding myself that if I show extra discipline now I'll be there faster. It's only temporary to push this hard. Before pictures help too. I didn't worry about a bad choice just didn't let that turn not a bad day. If it does just don't repeat it
Good luck
I'm from Ottawa too btw!0 -
As a certain sportswear manufacturer says, just do it! Diarise it, plan it, re-plan around disruptions and just do what you know you're supposed to do when and how you're supposed to do it. Before you know it, it will be a habit and you'll feel weird if you miss it!0

Around the same time, I stopped eating chocolate for 8 weeks and discovered MFP.
Now I'm 40 odd lbs lighter, I feel fantastic, and I exercise (somewhere between gentle and moderate) every day more or less.
I cannot imagine not going swimming now or not cycling to the gym or walking instead of taking the bus.
And sensible eating (i.e. no binging on packets of biccies or having snacks between or after meals) is practically second nature now. I do wonder how I ever got into the bad habits I used to have.
You need to just take that leap of faith and get down to it and if the bug bites you then fantastic. The good thing is you've got less to lose now than before so it's going to be easier and just take things gently and it'll all fall into place :flowerforyou:0
