I've actually lost 2 stone since June, 12" off tummy and 8 " off waist but last week had goal of reaching 30lbs off for this weeks weigh-in which was today and didn't make it.
I over exercised.. in desperation to drop 3-4lbs plus water from monthlies messed up my period which never arrived and water hasn't fully come off yet and result is my mind is telling me I'm still fat today.
Had oats for breakfast to kick start metabolism had apple and a carrot (sticks.. with a little hummus) just before noon then exercised through 'lunch' so wouldn't eat as much... just have low fat turkey fillet for dinner which will be low carb vegs only then not planning to eat again until tomorrow.. I'm thinking of trying Intermittant Fasting to see if I can drop more water that way.
I thought I was over this 'panic stage' that if I didn't see the number i`was expecting it launched me straight into fat burners, water tablets, dulcolax to get down to where I thought I should be by then in my mind.
The logical part of my brain knows 2 stone from June is a great loss, especially considering I'm hypothyroid and have mobility difficulties which restrict what exercises I can do... but that part gets lost when my brain sees an higher number than I was expecting!
Due to monthlies I haven't yet made a loss for the 5lbs a month group for December and we only got 2 weigh-ins left I think before xmas day. .. do I exercise frantically again then stop and try and drop 5lb before next weigh-in or am I making it harder to lose by exercising and therefore making my body store water? (which have to try and lose again before weigh-in).
problem is I now can't stay off the wii fit or exercise bike as I feel I have to burn something everyday or I'll the number will be even higher for next weigh-in... its driving me nuts! .. I daren't not check in case it goes too high that I can't reverse it.. but checking and seeing an higher weight isn't helping either.
I now will have to eat as little as possible to make at least a 2 lb loss for next week. .. I can't take a picture cos I think I'm gonna see a fat person in it and it won't look any different from my July pic at 12st 7 and cancelled colouring my hair cos I don't feel like I deserve it cos I didn't make '30lbs lost' this week... the mental side of dieting is much harder than the physical aspect and is hindering my progress I feel!
Anyone else get these kind of 'Jekyll and Hyde' mood swings since starting their diet?
p. s. I'm wondering if it could be peri-menopause or something, particular in regard to the severe mood swings? (I'm 42).
