Strength Exercise and Burning Calories?

I have always wondered why MFP doesn't add back calories for strength training. Is this included in the certain amount of calories already added to your calorie goal? Or is it because you are building muscle tissue? I know you burn a lot of calories doing strength training with minimum rest (I usually try to get my workouts, around 15 sets total, in 45-60 minutes). Can anyone explain this?

    I would log it under cardio as "circuit training". Although the initial burn is less for strength training, the after burn is much greater.

    Estimating the calories burned from strength training is very difficult because it depends on a variety of factors: how much weight you lifted per repetition, how vigorously you performed that exercise, how much rest you took between sets, etc. Because of this, we do not automatically calculate how many calories you burned from strength training exercises.

    However, if you'd like, you can add "Strength training" as a cardio exercise to get a rough estimate of how many calories you burned. Please be aware though that this is definitely a rough estimate and can be fairly inaccurate.

    I usually do supersets, and sometimes throw in some pylo between exercises. But I always track my strength training as circuit training.

    The "Strength" section is just for logging sets/reps/weight.
    Log it under Cardio as either "Strength" or "Circuit"

    I probably should have read the FAQs, thank you for the responses though.

    So if I'm lifting 3x/week (high rep, almost-max weight, 1-2 minutes in between sets), that's additional calorie burn? I have been lifting consistently and hard for the past 2 months or so (about the same time I've been calorie tracking), so do you think I should eat more even if I'm trying to lose some weight?
