So I've been doing P90X Doubles for the past 2 months hardcore. Never missing a day. For the past 2 days I just can't find a smidge of motivation. I think I'm just burnt out finally. I was thinking about taking a whole week off. I set my calories to maintenance of course. My question is will I lose my hard work? My muscles? I'm worried.

    I would not take an entire week off, at least a day though, then maybe try again the day after. Or take two days off, but I find that I get the most motivation after a full day or two off, but not more. I think it's definitely the mental breather than anything versus the physical in the long run. You are most likely mentally exhausted so your body follows suit.

    It's okay to take some time off, it's actually good for your body to take the time off.

    i would take some time off. what ever your "loss per week" goals are, i would cut it in half.

    i met a triathlete here in new york, and he told me that he takes from thanksgiving to new years day off. he puts on about 8 pounds, and relaxes on working out. i'm sure he just doesn't put on 8 pounds of pure fat, but still. it was comforting to know that even a very dedicated athlete takes time to himself.

    Your body needs a break. Myself I woulnd't take a whole week off. Maybe 3-4 days. And then perhaps do it 3 days on, 1 day off.. and so on.

    You didn't have all your success in a week and you absolutely can't lose it on a week. You'll be at maintenance, so there is absolutely nothing to worry about. Think about what maintenance means: maintaining, not losing!

    Take a break! The strength training program I'm on actually encourages me to take a week break after two months. It will be good for you physically and mentally.

    This!

    Training = work + rest

    You need the break, your body does and your brain. It is very important.
