I've heard that the beeps on the ft4 and ft7 that notify you when you aren't in your training zone are pretty much inaudible. Can anyone comment on the FT60? If I lock on a particular zone am I likely to be able to hear the beeps over the noise of my treadmill?

You can set the volume at different levels from quiet to very loud. Very loud is similar to the alarm volume on a typical digital watch. I can hear it over the treadmill but not over my iPod earphones. I don't worry about the beep anyway, I just look down at the digital display occassionally. It's very easy to read at a quick glance. It displays the 3 zones graphically and puts a heart in the current zone.0
