Restaurant Dining

Hey everyone... I'm going out to eat with a friend tonight and I have NEVER been good about watching what I eat at restaurants. Anyone have any good restaurants choices, meal choices or anything like that? Any advice helps! It looks like I will be choosing where we eat.

Check the restaurant website beforehand to see if they have nutritional info. Many restaurants are also denoting "healthy" choices with a special stamp or part of the menu will be sectioned off for it. Salads are a good choice but skip any meat or "loaded" ones as the meat is often fried and fatty, and will jam the calories up. Wraps can also be good, tell them to put any dressings or sauces on the side so you can control the amount. Avoid cream sauces. If you get pasta, ask for a box right off and put half of it into the takeaway box right at the start so you're cutting the amount you're eating in half. Avoid burgers, fries, appetizers that are fried, any of that stuff is just not a good idea.
The biggest concern at a restaurant is sodium content, but there's not a whole lot you can do there, unfortunately.0
