Sticking to the grocery list.

As we all know, times are hard, especially with jobs and money. My family and I have now come to a solid plan. It took me a while to get there but my husband had to help me out a little. We stick to our list. Generally nothing more or less. All week, I prepare a list of items we need and saturday morning we head to our grocery store with coupons and cuttings and get our food items. The last 2 weeks were awesome. Today, I realized that 90 per cent of what is coming thru the doors is healthy foods. One or two junck items for a treat but mostly its fruits, vegetables, fiber stuff etc. I am sooooooooo happy. No more sodas, chips, dips etc. There is also less wastage of food rotting in my fridge and other wasteful shopping.
It's all making sense now!
These hard times have really made me open my eyes to what WE SHOULD be eating and its making our family grocery trips less of a burden to me. Now, its like a mini weekend family trip. We are less stressed, cause we follow the list and the grocery is definitely within 100 bucks. Not bad, eh? :blushing:
I love this new lifestyle. I feel healthy and I feel we as a family have no choice but to make healthier food choices. Thank you MFP!!! I am really making it happen for me

Great Job! And also sticking to the outer boarder of the store is the safest. I worked Retail Management for many years... Your basic needs Dairy, Meat and Veggies are on all the boarders... You just might have to run past a bakery.. So hold your nose! :laugh: So you don't smell the fresh bread! Reducing that receipt and increasing your health is such a great feeling! :flowerforyou:0
