The title explains it all, I'm just curious as to how much weight people lost in their first month on MFP

Edit: Also add if you exercised during or if you only cut calories

I lost almost 20 lbs - a lot, then thought to myself..."oh boy!

"At this rate, I can meet my goals in 3 months and be fit for Summer..."---lol

    NOT!
I hit a wall I thought would never crack. 244, then adjusted and began losing about 10lbs a month before hitting another wall: 230, then the next wall was 211, and finally 200.

I broke all those walls - lost 64 lbs so far - 13 more to go.

16 pounds. Running training and also cutting my calories close to half.. probably was near 2500 without even knowing it... now down to 1800. Lost 5 pounds since... initial shock to my body, 9 pounds first two weeks.

2 to 3lb per week and have done for the past 12 weeks, eat your goal and exercise even if its a half hour fast walk per day and it will drop off

about 15, now it's slowed down though i don't know if that has to do with the nature of weight loss or all the parties and goodies. :)

15 pounds by cutting out high carb foods with only a small bit of walking. I've lost 10 pounds in each of the two months since by slowly upping my walking and lowering my carbs.

Smaller people with less weight to lose cannot physically lose weight as fast as bigger people. You were not cheated, your body did what it was physically able to do. :-)

OP I lost about 8 lbs my first month. Which was awesome for me seeing how I only had 40 to lose. But it has slowed down naturally over time as I get closer to my goal.

In my first 6 weeks, I gained 2 lbs. I think I ate too little plus started exercising a lot. Not a good combination, but since then I have not had a gain since and it's been 4 months.

I just checked. I lost 12 pounds. And no, I didn't exercise at that time; only limit my calorie intake.

So my first month on MFP (March to April) I gained almost 10 pounds after I had gotten my appetite back after being ill for 2 weeks :(

I have been here for 6 weeks. I have gained 3 lbs (gained 10 and then lost 7) :(
HOWEVER -- lost 1 inch in waist and 1.5 inches in hips. This is thrilling.

I lost 7ish in my first month...averaged about 1.5 lb loss a week. I didn't exercise a ton...mainly just walking my dog. I gave myself a 10 week goal of 10 lbs, and I've just hit that with 4 weigh ins still to go (3 full weeks). I only have 30ish lbs to lose, so I was really pleased with how quickly it's been coming off actually! Not as quick as most people on here it seems, but for me it's awesome!

My weight loss was actually slower in the beginning. It took getting more in tune with my body to figure out what worked for me. I think I probably lost around 5-7 pounds in the first month which admittedly was disappointing when I saw other people dropping 20 pounds. Luckily things have picked up to an almost steady 2 lb/week!
