I do not know who will find these words tonight or what mood the reader will bring with them.
I do not know the reader's preferences, do not know their likes or dislikes.

I enjoy films, movies, especially at the movie house rather than at home (usually). The big screen, the dark ...for me it makes a difference and I think it is how viewing movies was intended.

I went to the movies this afternoon with a friend. When the movie was over we sat there and didn't say anything. Hardly anyone got up right away and left. I was uncertain how I felt. Eventually people started leaving the theatre and most of the comments were of the "wow..that was something" variety.

We saw The Reader. It has been awhile since a movie affected me the way this one did. it is not a movie for the kids and it isn't a comedy. I am still sorting my feelings about it. I highly reccomend it.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. I'm reading the book and will see the movie when it comes out on dvd. I can't bring myself to spend the money on movies right now. Once in awhile for a treat but mostly have to wait to rent.

wasnt kate Winslet in that also?
  • haven't seen it dave, but I can relate to how it made you feel. Now I want to go check it out, Im not sure I even know which movie it is but it sounds like it's worth the watch. I also agree about the theater... deffinately the place to witness a flick for the first time. We're lucky enough to have a Silver City near us which is the ultimate in comfortable theaters.

I read the book a few years ago and felt the same way about the book - the story can be both disturbing and compelling. Glad to know the movie is recommended. Thanks for the report Dave - you gonna be okay?

I haven't even heard of it...but I'll read the book before I watch the movie. The book is always better.

The last time a movie hit me like that was when I saw United 93. My (ex) husband and I rented it, and afterwards, for a moment, we sat there in silence. then I burst into tears and turned to my husband sobbing, only to find tears were streaming down his face as well.

We knew a few people in NY in those towers, and he is an air traffic controller. I actually work for the FAA in the facility portrayed in that movie - the movie was partly filmed where I work.
