I am getting ready to make my family's favorite holiday treats in the next few days and one of those is a peanut butter based cookie. I only have Jif Natural peanut butter, and I have never baked with that. Will it work ok for baking of should I go buy a jar of regular peanut butter? I hate to go buy a jar since I have four jars of Jif Natural that I stocked up on when it was a really good sale, but I want my cookies to come out good. They are the only thing my brother requested to have while home on leave from Afganistan so I have to get them right. Thanks for the input.

i've had all kind of pb. It's all the same texture; use what you have. and enjoy it !!!
  • I have always baked with natural peanut butter. It actually never occured to me that it might not work! So I'm pretty sure you should just go ahead and do it.

Never thought about it, but it should taste better, and be better for you, so I say go for it. All you're missing will be the hydrogenated fats and whatever preservatives are in it.

Get a jar of the regular just in case

bake your first batch with natural JIF

If that batch doesn't come out right , send them to my ex girlfriend.

I doubt it will make that much of a change. Probably just less sugar in the Natural variety...
