Everyone,

I have set a personal goal of burning 100,000 calories through exercise in 2012. This is equivalent to roughly 28.5 pounds, or an average of 275 calories per day.

I am inviting anyone else interested in working towards a solid, medium-to-long term goal to join me in the new group I formed for this purpose. It is an open group, with the goal of providing motivation, support, and tracking for anyone interested in trying to meet this goal with me.

This group is geared towards the exercise, but is focused on improving our lives through a balanced approach to long term fitness and health - including diet (aka eating habits), exercise, and support.

I look forward to the new year with anyone and everyone who likes the idea.

Since we are getting close to the start of the year, I am bumping this post so others can see and join before we kick it into high gear.

Please post in the introductions thread in the group if you want to join.

I'll give this a shot. I have a very slow metabolism due to thyroid issues so I don't get a very high calorie burn when I work out. I currently working with a trainer to correct some issues and hopefully increase my burn rate. This challenge is just the motivation I need to stay on track for 2012  .
