These two granola bars have always been my favorite, especially the Oats & Honey Nature Valley and Fiber One Chocolate and Oats. However, I have mixed reviews for these granola bars. Are they good for you? And are they a good snack if i don't have the ability to eat other healthier foods

    Bump :/
  • I am not sure how healthy they are-but they are great snacks, low cals, high fiber and the chocolate&oats is amazing!

i don't think they're that bad. they just have lots of sugar in them, so i wouldn't eat like a whole box a day. i eat them every now and then too :)

The only unhealthy thing is that they're essentially glued together with sugar. As long as your refined sugar intake for the rest of the day is relatively low, they make a great and satisfying snack! :D

look at the ingredient list and see what is in them. the nature valley ones are probably not bad.

I like the Clif Crunch or Kashi crunchy granola bars as an alternative to nature valley - i think the ingredients are better. And the kashi ones have more protein and fiber, i believe.

For a fiber snack that is "processed" I eat vitatops or gnu bars instead of fiber one products - i think there are, in general, some ingredients in fiber one that I don't want to eat, including BHT.
