I deserved that chocolate, darn it, after the kind of day I

I ate 250 calories of dark chocolate...delicious dark chocolate that melted so wonderfully in my mouth. I deserved every single bite, and it was good.
While driving home from work today, my wheel almost fell off the car. Yep, rear passenger tire hanging at a very weird angle. Car not going anywhere tonight. I am wondering if it is a ball joint? Certainly not what I was expecting to happen. So, I had to pull over with a little help from the lady behind me and leave it on the side of the road. She drove me to the store down the road and nobody was able to help me, but they were very sympathetic listeners.
To add to my distress, I am a nurse at the hospital and on-call tonight. No hope for getting a rental or towed or even a cab back to the hospital where I could sleep in the call room. Fortunately, my colleagues got that worked out for me. I owe them one.
I walked the 1/2 mile home in the dark and almost fell off the road twice, cursing myself for leaving my flashlight in the car. I started getting warmed up, so I took off my sweater and dropped it on the road somewhere. As I was walking down the driveway, my downstairs neighbor came home. He asked me what was going on and I told him. We got back in his car and found my sweater. Then we drove to my car and couldn't determine what was wrong but decided it was pretty bad.
So back to the house where I ate a lean cuisine for dinner and then ate the chocolate. I had planned on eating some of it anyway because dark chocolate is supposed to be good at lowering cholesterol. I ate an extra piece. I will miss a day of work tomorrow, but fortunately, my friend will be off and can help me get the car towed and a rental set up. Maybe I will be lucky enough to find a way to pay for it without breaking the bank.
I was beginning to think, "I HATE MY LIFE", but on that walk home, I realized how much kindness there are in strangers, friends, and neighbors.

You don't have to justify it. If it fits into your goals, you should eat it because it makes you happy!
I'm sorry you had a rough day, though. Tomorrow will be better.0 -
Tongue in cheek. I was just really whining about the kind of day I had. No guilt associated with eating it at all.
And thanks, I really do hope tomorrow is better and the news about the car doesn't make me scream out loud.0 -
Good. I am glad you felt no guilt. I see too much of that.
It will all work out, though.0
