What are some of your favourite tunes for working out?

A couple of mine are:

Personal Jesus - Depeche Mode (awesome beat for elliptical)
Viva la Vida - Cold Play
Eli's Coming - Three Dog Night
Dancing in the Street - David Bowie

Replies

  • Nearly anything by Boston or Great Big Sea (esp. Bring on the Clowns). I watch for the tempo that keeps my speed up with running.

I love listening to country, but i also listen to rap, rock & altern. My MP3 is on shuffle & the music works perfect with my workouts. For example dmx, eminem, or dr dre are up beat & make me work hard & push it & then a country song comes on & it gives me a slowdown right when i need it.

I enjoy classical music and was able to find on iTunes a cd called classical cardio which has the music with a fast techno-ish beat. It helps keep me going with a fast beat. It even tells you what the bpm are.
  • Love the tempo of Blackeyed Peas and *****cat Dolls for interval training!

Lots of techno, trance and electronica in my workout playlist. To name a few: Above & Beyond, BT, Chicane, Deadmau5 and Jose Amnesia.

Unless I'm in a very specific mood, for me it's all rap and hip-hop. I have an iPod Shuffle (about 150 songs) that fuels most of my running/workouts. I have a lot of LoS, Blue Scholars, Kanye West, Rakim, The Roots, CYNE, etc. Songs with a heavy bass and a fast pace get me going the most well.
